Hello and welcome to Term 2, 2012.  Just to make sure you've all woken up after the holidays, I have a quiz question I would like you to comment on.  First student to comment gets 200 House Points and everyone to comment after that gets 100 House Points each too.

The question is .....
What is our school focus for Term 2? (I will give you some clues to help you :)

Blown Out by Hayley

Yesterday at 3pm a wolf blew down the houses of three innocent little pigs.

The wolf insisted he was coming to get a cup of sugar and sneezed on the houses. He said he was innocent. But we believe he was coming to have some pig dinner and blew down the houses.

The third little pig has something to say “A wolf ate my brothers.”The wolf is now in jail but watch out he could escape.

Hero Battle by James

“Ho, ho, ho,” Santa said, “We need to secure the presents.” “Yes, yes sir, yes sir,” said the snow men.

Well on the other side of the snow roofed land, what’s that, look out lolly artillery, that’s a close one. “Santa must admit defeat, if he does not we will be beaten. Prepare my men we cannot let Santa eat my lollies,” Easter bunny said. “Charge,” said Commander-in-chief. Sometime later. . .

“Santa look at this.” “O.K,” said Santa and Commander elf, the battle of good and good. Santa is winning, he is going to use Candy Cane Missiles “Fire,” said Santa, whoo, whoo, boom, boom. At the Easter fortress The Mighty bunny admit defeated. Santa has won. So that is why we get presents at Christmas.

Year Six Camp - Rakaia Gorge Walkway

On the first day when I heard we were going for this long walk up a farmer’s hill. I was looking forward to going there but a little frightened of the water. I was a little bit scared because Nathan told us that the Rakaia Gorge River was thirty cubic metres across. I imagined what would happen if someone fell and went straight in the water and got hurt.
When we started our walk up the hill we saw jet boats, golfers and cows. We had to carry our bags on our backs. They were really heavy because they had our food and warm clothes. We also saw other people going up and down the hill following the orange triangles. We had our lunch up the hill and the weather was cloudy. We din’ t continue our walk because it was raining. We were supposed to go for a swim at Mt Somers but because of the weather we didn’t go.

My favourite part was when I saw jet boats and cows on a far away land and having some lollies on our way up and down the hill.

Book Character Day by Siana

On Friday the 24th of February at Sacred Heart Primary school there was a book character day.

It’s when people dress up like characters in a book.

When I arrived at school I was dressed up as a cowgirl and my friend Penny was Alice in Wonderland which was impressive. When I went inside the classroom I saw lots of people dressed up. It was amazing. After that I saw Jack and he was dressed up as Harry Potter. It was a cool outfit. Then it was class time. I saw Miss G dressed up as in Dora the Explorer. It was hilarious.

After school I saw Mum and she said to me “How was school?” “Awesome,” I said. “There were lots of people dressed up.”

Then I said to Mum, “Let’s go home,” and we went home happily.
