Let's Race!

On Wednesday the 20th of February 2013 at Anzac Square, we had the school duathlon. First we had to run 1 lap around Anzac Square. Lots of people were in front of me when I started.

Then I raced to my bike and put my helmet on. My cousin Isabella was cheering for me so I waved at her and her friends while I was biking. We had to bike 3 laps for the competitive race.

Next I had to run 2 laps around Anzac Square. I ran as fast as I could to try and get 1st place.

Finally I finished. I came 6th place. I was so happy that I finished. I felt so proud of the place I came in, but I was so tired.

  1. Good for you, Sophie - sixth place is a great achievement. I'm pleased you enjoyed competing in the duathlon.

Well done for beginning your recount with an orientation (what, when, and where) - perhaps next time you could explain the 'who' as well?

I liked the way you linked your ideas using time connectives (first, then, and next).

Maybe you could check out the Room 1 Blog and read what my students have been writing?

    Ka pai, Sophie.
