Soft Toys by William

Teddy bears were invented in Germany and the United States at around the same time. They were named after American President Theodore “T.R. Roosevelt Junior” (Teddy). They were based on bear cubs. Teddy bears are quite popular with children all over the world.

Teddy bears and other animals are now made worldwide. Room 4 students brought their favourite soft toys to school to share.

Miss G’s rabbit has lots of patches. It is 4 inches tall and its ears are 3 inches tall. All together it is 7 inches tall. It has 2 shiny black dots for eyes. The rabbit has a gold ribbon. It is tied in a bow.

The kiwi is Reilly’s. It is brown and soft. It has a ribbon that says “I love NZ.” The kiwi lives in a box. It has big legs. The kiwi makes a noise like the forest.

Miss G’s bear has brown legs, arms and head. It has a green ribbon tied in a bow. The feet, tummy and ears are dark brown and red. It has brown and black eyes. The bear is soft. It has beans in its tummy.
